UDP meet on HC ruling

SHILLONG: The UDP will hold a meeting on January 3 to discuss the recent ruling of the High Court of Meghalaya questioning the role of the traditional heads in the state even as directing the State government to end all types of ‘parallel government practices’ besides prohibiting the issuing of NOC by a headman. The meeting will be held at Jaiaw Shyiap & Lum Pyllon community hall at 10.30 am. According to a statement issued by the party general secretary Allantry F Dkhar all the traditional heads including the Rangbah Shnong and stakeholders are likely to attend the meeting. He also urged the CEMs of both KHADC and JHADC to attend the meeting.
