15- Rangdajied United FC holds defending champions East Bengal 1-1 in their first ever Federation Cup match. The same day, Shillong Lajong FC start their Fed eration Cup campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of Salgaocar.
18- Lajong lose 0-6 to Mohun Bagan, Rangdajied come from behind to hold top team Bengaluru FC.
19- Bining ends third amongst Indians at Mumbai Marathon. Lyngkhoi missed finish ing as the top Indian male at the Mumbai Marathon by just 32 seconds with a time of 2:24:40.
21- Both Shillong Lajong and Rangdajied knocked out of Federation Cup in contrasti -ng fashion. Lajong won their match against Mumbai 4-0, but it was not enough for them to remain in contention. Rangdajied lost 0-2 to Sporting Clube de Goa.

4- State karatekas earn glory at national stage. While Easter Mary Lyngdoh wins a silver medal in the women’s 55 kg individual kumite, the state’s junior team win 24 medals at the Junior Nationals.
7- Royal Wahingdoh makes a winning start in 2nd Division I-League beating Garhwal FC 9-2 in Dhanbad.
11- A bad day for Rangdajied United which lost to Churchill Brothers 0-1 as the I- League 2013-14 season resumed. Meanwhile, the Rangdajied U-19 side which had made its U-19 I-League (North East Zone) debut the same day went down 1-2 to Shillong Lajong.
12- Royal Wahingdoh makes a winning start in U-19 I-League (North East Zone) beating Green Valley (Assam) 2-0.

9- Rangdajied United FC earn their first ever back-to-back victory in the I-League with a smashing 4-0 triumph over United SC in a home match to finally move out of the relegation zone.

11- Royal Wahingdoh FC storm into next season’s I-League with a 3-2 victory over Bhawanipore FC, topping the Second Division I-League.Wahingdoh become only the third club from Shillong – after Shillong Lajong FC (2009) and Rangdajied United FC (2013) – to qualify for the I-League.
13- Heralding what promised to be a new era in Indian football, with the North East as one of its centres, the eight franchises of the much-anticipated Indian Super League were announced in Mumbai. The big development for the region was the confirma tion that Guwahati, the largest city in the North East, will be one of the hosts, with a joint bid by I-League club Shillong Lajong FC and Bollywood actor John Abraham proving a success.

21- Rangdajied United FC play out a goalless draw in the second Shillong I-League derby against Lajong to ensure that they avoid relegation in their maiden season in the top tier. They finished 12th in the standings with 25 points from 24 matches.

3- Pre-tournament favourites Nangkiew Irat hold on to their U-19 Shillong Premier League title emerging as champions. Shillong Lajong finish as runners-up.
21- Shillong Lajong FC announce that thier former captain and India international Aiborlang Khongjee has rejoined the club.
24- Parvati Nair is selected to represent India at the 2nd Asian Grand Prix Archery Championship, to be held in Taiwan in August. Nair, born in Kerala, is a student of Army School, Happy Valley Campus.

30- A dominant display by Shillong United sees them earn the First Division football title after handing Laitumkhrah a 3-0 loss.
September
15- Edward Mawthoh, a junior from Meghalaya, bags a bronze medal at the World Kickboxing Championship 2014 held in Italy. Mawthoh competed in the 48kg cat egory of the Under-16 full contact sports, which was held from September 6-14 at Rimini.
October
15- In his maiden visit to the city, NEUFC co-owner John Abraham says that the next season of the Indian Super League (ISL) may see Shillong host at least two to three games.
November
12- The inaugural Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Professional Open Golf Tournament, the first professional golf event in Shillong in nine years, kicks off at the Shillong Golf Course. The Rs 40 lakh tournament, the highest ever for any event in the Northeastren region, was organized by the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in the country.
14- St. Edmund’s defeated St. Anthony’s College by 5 wickets in the final to bag their fourth Inter College Cricket title.
15- Lucknow golfer Sanjay Kumar came up with an outstanding final round score of five-under-65 to register a comprehensive five-shot win at the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Open golf 2014.

8- National Youth and Junior Judo Championship 2014-15 gets underway in Shillong. Around 900 judokas from across the country took part in the three-day event.
