Paul vacates Raj Bhavan

SHILLONG: Outgoing Meghalaya Governor KK Paul on Monday vacated the Raj Bhavan after having served the State for almost eighteen months.

Paul had assumed charge as Governor on July 8, 2013, six days after being named as successor to Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary.

On his last day in office on Monday, the Governor met the staffs of the Secretariat before vacating the office. Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and other senior Government officials were present on the occasion.

West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi would hold additional charge of Meghalaya from Tuesday.

Tripathi will be administered the oath of office by Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of meghalaya Justice Uma Nath Singh at a function at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday at 4 pm.
