Fraud
Amosstar Lamin of Qualapatty, Shillong lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on January 6 at around 11 am, he received a telephone call in which the caller identified himself to be an employee of United Bank of India, Mumbai and asked for the ATM details. Later, he received an SMS that Rs. 24,490 has been withdrawn from his account.
Theft
On January 6 at around 2 am, unknown miscreants broke into the garage of Salin D Sangma at Rongdusora (SWKH) and stole his motorcycle (ML-06-5561).
Dr. David D Tariang lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that on January 5, unknown miscreants broke open an almirah in the room of the Accountant at Dr. H. Gordon Robert Hospital, Shillong and stole Fixed Deposit Certificates, keys, pass books, cash and other documents.
On January 2 at around 2 pm, minor boys and six others attempted to commit theft from the shop of Nickstar Nongsiej at Nongstoin Market (WKH). On January 4, VDP members of New Nongstoin apprehended one minor and handed him over to Police.
Biole T Dura lodged a complaint at Pynursla PS that on January 2 at around 10 pm, his son Reniwell Diengdoh (32) stole clothes, utensils, etc., from his (complainant’s) house at Nongshken (EKH).Ram Mohan Chakravarty lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on December 2 unknown miscreants broke into his house at Jail Road, Shillong and stole cash Rs. 2 lakh, coins amounting to Rs. 3,000, bronze utensils valued around Rs. 50,000, fixed deposit certificates/pass books and other valuable documents.
Minor handed over to Childline
On January 5 at around 10.30 pm, one minor girl, Meiti Dkhar (12) of Jowai (WJH) was found loitering at Mawlai Umjapung, Shillong. She was handed over to Childline Shillong.
One molested
A woman lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on January 5 at around 11 pm, one Mynjur Suchiang molested her in her house at Thadsning village (WJH).
Rape attempt.A 32-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Nongpoh PS that on January 4 evening, two unknown persons attempted to rape her at Umden Nongtluh village (RB).
Assault
On January 3 at around 10.30 pm, one Jhan Dkhar attacked Wanyoo Phawa with a dagger at Ryngad village (EJH) causing injuries to him.
Bijendra Kumar Agarwal, Assistant Engineer (P), IIM Project Circle, Shillong lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on December 15 one Rocky Dkhar and 10 others went to his office at Cleve Colony, Shillong and assaulted him.
Body recovered
According to a delayed report, on December 26 one highly decomposed body (gender not known) was recovered from a forest near Mawiong Tariang-B, Shillong.
Accident
On January 6 at around 8.30 pm, an accident took place between Maruti Zen car (WB-3153) driven by Surab Das Talukdar and one Maruti Alto car (ML-05L-6656) driven by Elkana Khongsit (40) at Baniun Mylliem (EKH). As a result, driver of Maruti Alto car sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
