Police reunites 35 runaway children with their families

New Delhi: In a drive aimed to reunite runaway children with their families, Crime Branch of Delhi Police has found four more kids staying in children’s homes and has sent them to their families.
With this figure, police have so far reunited 35 children with their families under its operation ‘Milap’, launched three weeks ago. Police said that in its recent raids, it found a 12-year-old boy at a shelter in north-east Delhi’s Mansarovar Park area.
The boy was questioned and after being taken into confidence, he told that he belonged to Roorkee in Uttarakhand. Police said that the boy left home around a month ago after a scuffle with his father. In a similar case, police found another boy of the same age.
He was brought to the shelter home when some volunteers found him loitering around New Delhi Railway station area. Police said that in another shelter home, the police came across two brothers aged 14 years and 12 years. They belonged to a village in Darbhanga district of Bihar and fled from home in November. They told that their parents used to pressurise them for study. Police said that they all revealed the names, addresses and telephone numbers of their parents. (PTI)
