Woman gives birth just hour after learning about pregnancy

Washington: A woman recently gave birth to a baby girl just an hour after learning about her pregnancy, it has been reported. Katherine Kropas had no idea she was pregnant with a 10-pound baby until an hour before she gave birth, ABC News reported.
The 23-year-old had few intense back pains, but at first, doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with her, so they did an ultrasound and after looking at the report they rushed her off into the labor.
Kropas told WCVB she felt that she”d put on some weight, but figured maybe it was just typical holiday weight gain.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton, a senior medical contributor for ABC News and practicing OB/GYN, said she’s seen cases like Kropas’s in her career and it tends to happen in women who are overweight or obese to start, might have irregular periods and are less aware of their bodies.
It represents a missed opportunity for prenatal care for the baby, which was definitely not ideal, she further added. (ANI)

American teenager indicted for supporting IS

Washington: An American teenager was today indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly trying to travel overseas to join the banned Islamic State (IS) outfit. 19-year-old Mohammed Hamzah Khan from Chicago was also charged with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State in a single-count indictment returned late yesterday.
The date for him to be arraigned in US District Court in Chicago has not been decided yet.
Khan has been in federal custody since his arrest on October 4 last year by the FBI at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport while trying to fly to Vienna on his way to Istanbul.
He was initially charged in a criminal complaint with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organisation, and the indictment formalises the same. As per the indictment, between February and October 4, Khan attempted to provide material support and resources, specifically, personnel to the IS. (PTI)

British Rugby player sidelined as no boots fit his ‘biggest’ feet

London: We have all heard news of players getting sidelined due to injuries or various other reasons, but not of someone who was sidelined on account of being not able to find a new pair of size 21 boots.
British rugby player Carl Griffiths, who has the biggest feet in the country, has been seeking help to find a new pair of boots that fits his feet. Griffiths said that it was frustrating to be out just because of not having shoes that fit, adding that he had some boots in size 18 and he wore them with his toes curled right up, but he broke a toe when someone stepped on it, the Mirror reported.
Meanwhile, every sports firm Carl contacted reportedly said that they simply do not make boots as big as size 21. (ANI)
