‘Arunachal’s proposals will not languish in Centre’

Itanagar: Union Minis-ter of State for Home Kiren Rijiju has asserted that the state will not find its projects and proposals languishing or cold stored at Delhi.
‘I believe that people and society are above one’s political affiliations and being a public represent-ative, I am duty bound to work for their welfare, development and pros-perity irrespective of their party and political affilia-tions,’ Mr Rijiju said on Sunday during his visit to Thrizino in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pra-desh for the 43rd Nyetrii-Dow festival of the Hrussos.
‘I will ensure that the state is well represented at the Centre and its needs are taken care of,’ he said.
Official sources said on Monday, he assured to sanction Rs 8 crore for construction of the long felt Nyetrii-Dow building and development of the general ground on the condition that it was technically fit and sound.
Earlier, Parliamentary Secretary for PHED & WS, Kumsi Sidisow, the chief patron of the festival-cum-local legislator urged Mr Rijiju to facilitate inclusion of Thrizino-Buragaon assembly segment under BADP in order to accelerate development which had for long remained unattended.
Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism M. Natung stressed that the onus of preserving,  and propaga-ting one’s age-old tradition and cultural heri-tage lay on the younger generations, sources added. (UNI)
