43 AR organises blood donation camp

Haflong: A blood donation camp was organised by the Haflong based 43 Assam Rifles unit on Thursday on the occasion of 67th Army Day at the state government-run Civil Hospital here in Dima Hasao district.
The camp was held at the Haflong Civil Hospital where the collected blood was deposited for accident victims, premature babies, patients undergoing major surgery and lower segment Caesarean section (LSCS) patients, said an Assam Rifles press release.
The camp received positive response from the security forces and the public with 30 Assam Rifles personnel and 17 civilians voluntarily donating blood, the release said.
Inaugurating the camp, 43 Assam Rifles Commandant Col R K Singh said blood donation was one of the noble gestures of humanity, which promotes fraternity and unity and also serves to ensure peace, prosperity and progress of the nation. (PTI)
