Gogoi interacts with children in SOS Village

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi visited the SOS Children’s Village accompanied by his wife Dolly Gogoi.
“You are our invaluable assets and on your shoulder lies the future of the country,” Gogoi said wishing the children a bright future during his visit to the Village at Azara on the outskirts of the city on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu on Thursday.
Gogoi lauded the good work carried out by the SOS Children’s Village, Azara, in the upbringing of the children in a homely atmosphere and giving them proper education, health care and comforts of life.
Gogoi  complimented the mothers for giving their motherly care and comfort to the orphaned and abandoned children, said an official press release.
Gogoi gave away Assamese delicacies to the children and Mothers on the occasion of Bihu, while the children presented them mementos that included paintings much to the delight of the Chief Minister and his wife.
The Chief Minister also went around the sprawling campus of the Village and appreciated the various activities being carried out for the children’s welfare, the release added. (PTI)
