BRO top brass take stock of situation in Arunachal

Itanagar: Director General of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Lt Gen RM Mittal accompanied by Maj Gen US Daddu, BRO in charge of Northe Eastern region, began five-day tour to Arunachal Pradesh from Saturday.
The BRO top rungs, who toured Tawang on Saturday and Tenga yesterday to take stock of the ongoing projects to ascertain the progress of ongoing works, an official communiqué said here on Monday.
The duo are expected to be appraised by BRO’s Arunank Project chief engineer Brigadier H K Pokhariya about the ongoing projects, particularly in Nacho-Tama-Chung and Chung-Reddi-Taksing roads near the Indo-China border which, is a part of the 221 km Daporijo-Taksing road, which the CE had toured on foot in November and December last.
Both of them are scheduled to fly to China border areas for ascertaining the progress of work and to suggest steps to speed up the work, the communiqué said.
While welcoming the tour of the DG, state PWD Minister Gojen Gadi informed that he had a detailed discussion on various road projects with Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
Gadi drew Rijiju’s attention towards the speedy sanction of Itanagar-Banderdewa four lane road project, survey of the proposed Mago-Thingbu-Vijoynagar road and sought his intervention on the Akajan- Bame and Joram-Koloriang road projects due to no progress by the BRO besides snail speed progress of the Bhalukpong-Tawang strategic road.
