Pulse Polio immunization campaign launched

The Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills organised an awareness programme on Monday to launch the three-day Pulse Polio Immunization campaign 2015 at Mawpynthih village under Pomlum PHC.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of District Health Society, National Health Mission, Sanjay Goyal, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme was presided over by the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, Dr. RM Lamare.
In West Jaintia Hills, Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar launched the campaign at Chutwakhu Urban Health Central.
Around 100 children under the age of five years were administered the Polio vaccine. Under the campaign the second dose of the vaccine will be administered in February.
