Border road constructed in Langpih

NONGSTOIN: The State government through the Inter State Border Areas Development Programme has constructed a one kilometer approach road from Mawsikar to Umbyrsit village in the Langpih border area in West Khasi Hills District.
The road, which cost of Rs.5 lakh, was implemented through the office of the Border Area Development, West Khasi Hills District.
Residents of the two villages came forward to help in construction of the said road with a view to ease road communication between the two villages.
The road was inaugurated by A. Lyngdoh, Border Area Development officer, West Khasi Hills, on Tuesday in the presence of village leaders of the area and the general public.
Tyngshain Nonglang, Secretary, Umbyrsit Village, expressed his gratitude to the office of the Border Area Development for constructing the road which, he said, will prove highly beneficial to the residents of the area
