Infant abandoned in Tura to be put up for adoption

TURA: An infant who was abandoned by his parents on the morning of January 4 at Upper Babupara in Tura, West Garo Hills, is likely to be put up for adoption given that no claims are made by anyone within 60 days.
The infant who was found by residents of the locality on the morning of January 4 was rescued by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) which functions under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) after they were informed about the discovery and has since been sent to Shillong for necessary formalities.
“Interested parties who want to adopt the baby can register their names at our office near Wadanang Baptist Church, Tura,” an official of the District Child Protection Unit said in a release.
