SHILLONG: Nongthymmai SCC defeated Aurobindo CC by eight wickets in a league match of the Super Division Shillong Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo on Thursday.
Aurobindo’s decision to bat first backfired as they were dismissed for a paltry 57 runs in 19.3 overs. Andrew Ropmay’s five-wicket haul spelt doom for the batters none of whom barring Vivek Bhattacharjee (27 runs) could put up a decent fight. Chirag Tekriwal also grabbed three wickets for 15 runs in 6.5 overs. In reply, Nongthymmai SC reached the target 59 runs losing two wickets in just 9.3 overs. Ropmay with 22 runs of 26 balls was the top scorer.
