Bengaluru: After starting their campaign with a draw, pressure will be on Bengaluru FC to register their first win of the season when they take on Pune FC in an I-League match here today.
Bengaluru will be hoping to make amends in their performance as their supply chain to their strikers Sean Rooney, Robin Singh and skipper Sunil Chhetri was below-par in their drawn match against Dempo.
Most of the attacks came through aerial routes which made the task of Dempo defenders easy to make clearances from the danger zone.
Nevertheless, Bengaluru’s defence did a good job with centre-back John Johnson leading the charge.
Also, Bengaluru would not like to miss on their chances as they did against Dempo.
They missed three good chances including a penalty, which Sunil Chhetri spilled.
Like Bengaluru, Pune also have blooded in a couple of youngsters — Brazilian centre-back Luciano Sobrosa and Japanese striker Ryuji Sueoka — to bring fresh legs on to the field.
Pune will be hopeful that these two players play a big role against the defending champions today. (PTI)
