Actor Gary Dourdan is bankrupt

Former ‘CSI’ star Gary Dourdan has been declared     bankrupt with just USD 84.50 in his savings. Court
documents show that the actor, 48, had just USD 904.35 left in his general bank account after paying his expenses (which included a USD 135 yoga class), and USD 84.50 in savings. Dourdan pays USD 1,500 per month to ex Jennifer Sutton in child support payments for his daughter Nyla. The documents state that he has missed four payments to his creditors, and he owes them USD 14,413.32. When he first filed in August 2011, the actor owed USD 1.73 million and had just a little over USD 1.8 million in assets. Dourdan played Warrick Brown on ‘CSI’ for nine seasons and left the show in 2008. He guest starred on ‘Mistresses’ and ‘Being Mary Jane’, among other smaller projects. (PTI)

Amy Poehler receives Hasty Pudding Award from Harvard

Parks and Recreation     star Amy Poehler has     been honoured with the 2015 Hasty Pudding Award by the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard University. Poehler was celebrated in song, dance and an uproarious roast on Thursday as the recipient of the award, reported People magazine. “I’d like to thank you, Hasty Pudding, for reminding me how hard it is to write funny jokes,” Poehler, 43, said at the ceremony, where presenters poked fun at the actress for never having won an Emmy Award, despite being nominated more than a dozen times. “When I was growing up in Burlington (a Boston suburb), Harvard University used to be a group of buildings we threw rocks at on our way to a real job. Julianne Moore stopped believing in God after mother’s death

Golden Globe-winning actress Julianne Moore says     her mother’s demise six years ago has made her     an atheist. Moore’s mother Anne Smith’s died in 2009 at the age of 68. Since then the 54-year-old actress has started believing in herself, instead of God, she told The Hollywood Reporter. “The idea that you’re the centre of your own narrative and that you can create your life is a great idea. I totally believe it. I’ve been really lucky, but I feel I’ve completely created my own life. “I learned when my mother died five years ago that there is no ‘there’ there. Structure, it’s all imposed. We impose order and narrative on everything in order to understand it. Otherwise, there’s nothing but chaos,” Moore said. (PTI)

Rosamund Pike to star in sea adventure film

Gone Girl’ star     Rosamund Pike and     Joel Kinnaman will lead the cast of sea adventure film ‘The Bends’. The film centers on a diving expedition that uncovers a mystery on the sea floor. The expedition serves to bring up old problems for an ex-marine working to pay off mob debts. The project comes from Anova Pictures and will be directed by Jean Luc Herbulot (Dealer), according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pike, 36, is coming off the success of ‘Gone Girl’, which has earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She will also soon appear in romantic thriller ‘Return to Sender’ and survival drama ‘The Mountain Between Us’. Kinnaman is best known for his role as Detective Stephen Holder in ‘The Killing’, and for heading up the reboot of ‘RoboCop’. (PTI)
