Lil Wayne sues record label

Rapper Lil Wayne Lil Wayne is suing his record label for USD 51 million. In the lawsuit filed in
Manhattan Federal Court, Wayne said Cash Money Records has been failing to honour his contract and cheating him out of millions, reported New York Daily News. The company has failed to pay Wayne, listed in the lawsuit as Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, the USD 8 million it owes him for his soon-to-be-released album ‘Tha Carter V.’ The suit says that under the terms of a 2012 contract extension, Cash Money is supposed to pay him USD 8 million up front when he starts work on a new album, and another USD 2 million when he delivers it. Angelina Jolie to direct

Brad Pitt in Africa Hollywood star Brad Pitt is eyeing another collaboration with his wife Angelina Jolie and is set to appear in the actress-turned-director’s ‘Africa’. The 51-year-old actor is set to lead the biopic, playing a paleo-archaeologist named Richard Leakey who fought elephant poachers in the 1980s in Kenya, reported The Wrap. Pitt and Jolie first worked together in ‘Mr and Mrs’ Smith’. Most recently, they collaborated as actor/director in ‘By the Sea’. The drama which centers on a couple in the 1970s is possibly set for release later this year. (PTI)

First poster of Bombay Velvet released

Upcoming neo-noir drama Bombay Velvet, directed by Anurag Kashyap, has unveiled its first poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Johnny Balraj. The film is based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’. Set in Bombay of the 1960s, the movie tells the story of a street fighter, Johnny Balraj, and an aspiring jazz singer, Rosie, played by Anushka Sharma. “Welcome Johnny Balraj! Our first poster #BombayVelvet @foxstarhindi @FuhSePhantom,” Anushka posted on twitter along side the poster. A teaser of the film’s first-look was released on January 28, which saw Ranbir, 32, in a fighting cage. Filmmaker Karan Johar is set to make his acting debut with ‘Bombay Velvet’, which is slated to hit theatres on May 15. (PTI)
