One knocked down

On January 31 at around 10.15 am, one motorcycle (ML-05L-5322) ridden by Pynbhalang Kharsati knocked down one pedestrian viz., Miss Therisa Syiemiong (11 yrs) at 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong. As a result, victims sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.

NGT ban violation

On January 29 at around 10.40 am, S. Kharlyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills produced one Lotherwing Warjri, driver of truck (ML-06-4429) at Mairang PS for transporting coal without valid documents in violation of NGT Order.

Theft

On January 29 at around 2.30 pm, one juvenile stole one car deck and other articles from a shop belonging to Md. Kitabuddin Ansari at Nangalbibra Bazar (SGH). Police arrested the juvenile.

Accident

On January 29 at around 1 pm, one truck (number not known) dashed against one motorcycle (ML-5J-9268) ridden by Hiom Kupar Nongsdier at Mawlai Main Junction, Shillong. As a result, motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
On January 28 at around 3 am, one Mahindra Bolero pick-up (AS-01-AC-1968) driven by Ranbir Singh fell into a gorge at Ratacherra (EJH). As a result, the driver died on the spot.

One dead

Amar Shastha lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on January 28, his wife Kanla Aggala (32 yrs) fell into a pit at Sakhain village (EJH) and died on the spot. Necessary formalities have been observed.

Rape attempt

On January 24, one Bijoy Boro attempted to rape his nine-year-old daughter at Ienkeinmo, Jowai and fled away.

Fraud

One woman lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat PS that on January 14, she received phone calls from Akash Verma and Vijay Yadav who claimed to be staff of Airtel Company informing her that she had won a lottery of Rs. 25 lakh. The callers instructed her to deposit Rs. 6,58,000 in different accounts to claim the prize money.
