SHILLONG: The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner has warned all coal laden trucks plying towards Assam against overloading.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the DC informed that with the notification of Ratacherra as exit point for transportation of coal to Assam and in order to avoid congestion of NH-44 and delay during checking of coal-laden trucks at Ratacherra weight bridge, all coal laden trucks plying towards Assam should not load more than nine metric tonnes of coal.
“Required documents like royalty challan, transportation challan, permit etc., should be produced during checking at the check point or at Ratacherra Weight Bridge. Any truck carrying coal more than the permissible limit will have its coal unloaded loaded,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
