Fraud

On February 5 at about 9.45 pm, Demlal Kipjen received a phone call in which the caller identified himself as an employee of SBI and asked about his ATM details. Later, he found that Rs. 11,490 had been fraudulently debited from his account.

Assault

On February 3 at around 6.35 pm, four persons viz., Robinson Marak, Arsin Sangma, Kachi Sangma and Janeston Sangma demanded Rs. 1 lakh from Molly R Marak at Bollongitok, Tikrikilla (WGH). When the victim failed to pay, the accused assaulted and attempted to murder him causing grievous injuries. He was admitted in a Hospital at Goalpara, Assam.

One knocked down

On February 2, one Maruti Alto (ML-04B-9926) knocked down Surma Dev Barman, handyman of truck (AS-02DC-8897) at Umkiang (EJH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Silchar Medical College Hospital, Assam where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Alto fled away after the incident.

Suicide

On January 31 at around 10.30 am, Dapanlangki Suting committed suicide by hanging himself in a forest near Jowai (WJH).

Threat

On the evening of January 31 and February 1, H.B Gurung, Sunita Gurung, Anita Gurung and one unidentified Police Constable went to the residence of Ranu Devi Sherpa at Forest Colony, Shillong, threatened her and her son Vishal Sherpa, alleging that he had abducted their daughter.

Missing

One person lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that since January 24, a minor (17 yrs) had went missing from Little Angel Higher Secondary School, Mawbah, Shillong. He suspected that one Md. Murtiza Mia had abducted her.

Accident

On February 6 at around 11.45 am, one truck (AS-01-AC-8733) driven by Markus Mawthoh dashed against one motorcycle (ML-05L-3216) ridden by Pzepal Gyaltsen at Sohryngkham (EKH). As a result, the rider sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
