Surrendered ultra in police custody for bank official’s kidnap

TURA: A surrendered ASAK cadre and area commander of southern command of the outfit, Dimsrang M Sangma alias Nawal, has been arrested by South Garo Hills Police for his alleged involvement in the abduction of a SBI official from Gasuapara, last year.
Gasuapara SBI bank official, SK Mishra was kidnapped by ASAK militants while he was returning to Tura late last year. He was subsequently released after the family reportedly paid ransom money.
According to police, one of the key conspirators behind the abduction, Dimsrang had surrendered before BSF officials in Tura on the 13th of last month.
“Based on evidence we have taken Dimsrang into custody for the involvement in the banker’s abduction,” South Garo Hills Police informed.
