Programme on medical use of morphine

SHILLONG: The Directorate of Health Services (MI), Shillong organized a training programme on medical use of morphine at Health Complex recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Y Tsering stressed on the need to facilitate easy availability of morphine, the wonder drug in all hospitals to provide solace and comfort to terminally ill patients to live with dignity and pass away gracefully.
Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, KW Marbaniang said, “Freedom from pain should be seen as a right of every cancer patient and access to pain therapy as a measure of respect for this right.”
The programme was followed by presentations and interactive sessions.
