Rongjeng fest from March 20

SHILLONG: Rongjeng in East Garo Hills is all geared up for the three-day ‘Rongjeng Festival’ scheduled to begin from March 20.
Th event aims at promoting friendship and brotherhood in the region, Shamina Sangma, the event director said.
It will showcase the ethnic culture, food, beverage, music and marketplace. The community-participated event will consist of music performances by local talents, games and sports for yuuths and elders.
The marketplace will have stalls of ethnic food, handloom and handicraft products besides other locally produced items.
She also urged self-help groups, local producers and interested individuals to visit www.rongjeng.in for participating in the event.
