SHILLONG: After a highly successful TEDxIIMShillong 2014, the third edition of event will kick off at Pinewood Hotel here on Saturday.
The event organised under the theme ‘See Saw and What is Yet to be Seen’ will be true to the core values of TED Talks, bringing up ideas worth spreading with riveting talks by distinguished people from disparate fields.
Nine speakers from a variety of fields like science, social service, history and epigraphy, entrepreneurship, entertainment and music, will share their stories with the students and faculty members of IIM Shillong and other attendees.
Speakers like Murali Krishnan B., Dr. Chithra Madhavan, Nikhil Vij and Dr. S. Sudhakaran will look to engage the crowd with their unique ideas and experiences in their respective fields.
Varun Jhaveri, an avid MUN enthusiast who has been the Global Youth Representative of India at the MUN will give his insights on the global youth and how they have transformed over the years.
The bouquet of speakers will also include some personalities who have carved a niche for themselves in the world of entertainment. National Award winning film director, Nitin Kakkar will take the crowd through the journey of cinema over the years while local musician, Lou Majaw will enthrall the crowd with a talk on music.
TEDxIIMShillong rose to global fame last year when it won the TEDxChange scholarship.
Prachi Agarwal, a second year student at IIM Shillong and licensee holder of TEDxIIMShillong, received the scholarship to attend the TEDGlobal event held in Rio de janerio Brazil in October 2014.
