NFU survive Sputnik test

SHILLONG: NFU defeated TNT Sputnik by three wickets in a league match of the Super Division Shillong Cricket League organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo on Sunday.
TNT Sputnik’s decision to bat first backfired as they were bundled out for a paltry 123 in 37.3 overs. If not for Swarajeet Das’ 47-ball 34, Sputnik would have failed to reach eve the three digit mark. Sylvestar (3/27) and Arjun (2/15) were the pick of the bowlers for NFU.
In reply, NFU made heavy weather of a small chase losing seven wickets to reach the target in 31.5 overs. Nitesh Sharma once again delivered with the bat scoring 30 off 57 balls. Meanwhile, Aditya Singhania with figures of 3/30 was the most successful bowler for Sputnik.
