NGT ban violation

On February 24 at around 6 pm, police detected one truck (ML-10A-7598) driven by Netstarwell Kharthangmaw (26) transporting coal in violation of NGT Order at Siejlieh (WKH). Police arrested the driver of truck.

Girl’s body recovered

On February 24, one highly decomposed female body (15/16 yrs) apparently non-tribal, was recovered from Umshru village under Patharkhmah OP (RB). Order from the Magistrate is awaited to dispose of the body.

Accident

On February. 23 at about 10.20 am, one truck (ML-09A-4705) dashed against one auto-rickshaw (AS-18-4376) at Dainadubi (NGH). As a result, the driver and four occupants of the auto-rickshaw sustained injuries and were shifted to PHC Dainadubi where one of the injured victim Prodesol Marak succumbed to his injuries. Three other occupants were later shifted to CH Goalpara, Assam.

Attempt to rape

One Leborlin K. Raswai lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat PS that on Feb. 23, he took his three-year-old niece for medical checkup at CHC Mawkyrwat, where the attending MO opined that unknown miscreant had attempted to rape the girl.

Govt vehicle stolen

R.K Sangma, MFS, Divisional Forest Officer lodged a complaint at Williamnagar PS on February 23 that unknown miscreants stole one Government vehicle (Mahindra Bolero ML-01-4585) from Tambo Ading (EGH). In another case, on February 24 at around 8.45 pm, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-05H-2147) from MUDA Parking Lot, Police Bazar.

ATM fraud

One Sambhu Nath Tiwary lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on February 22 at around 2.30 pm, he received a phone call in which the caller identified himself as employee of SBI and asked about his ATM details. Later, he received an SMS informing that Rs. 5,500 has been debited from his account.

Abduction

Plason D. Sangma of Banjing village (WKH) lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS that on February 17, one Dots M. Sangma abducted his (complainant) daughter Jacintha S Marak.

Threat to defame

One Robert F Kharbuki lodged a complaint at Lumdiengjri PS that some 16 years ago he had relationship with Shanu Kharsyntiew of Laban, Shillong. On February 16, 2015 she asked him over phone to meet her at Office of Syiem of Mylliem, Mawkhar, Shillong and on seeing each other they hugged and later she told him that the same had been video-graphed and threatened to defame him if he failed to pay her Rs. 10 lakh.

Facebook misuse

A woman lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on Decemebr 22, one Sahil Raj of Bihar used her Facebook account, uploaded indecent pictures with derogatory remarks and forwarded vulgar messages to her family members.
