SHILLONG: A class X student of Government Secondary School, Nongtalang, West Jaintia Hills was, allegedly, assaulted during the school assembly hours on Tuesday by a group of 15 people led by a person claiming to be the Secretary of Dorbar Shnong forcing the Headmaster to lodge a complaint with the police on Wednesday .
According to a report, while the headmaster L. Lyngdoh had gone to attend a meeting convened by the district school education officer D. Khongong in Jowai on Tuesday , a group of persons barged into the school premises during the assembly hours and threatened the students for supporting the Headmaster.
The miscreants had claimed that the Headmaster was not doing his duty properly which, however was refuted by the students .The miscreants also asked the students to raise their hands and even slapped a class X student for resisting them.
