Minors’ rape evokes severe condemnation

Itanagar: Expressing serious concern over the recent rape incident, the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has vehemently condemned the alleged rape of two minor girls at Seppa in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Such inhuman, barbaric and shameful acts of the accused reflect the security concern of the women in the society, APSCW said on Saturday.
The APSCW Chairperson Mitali Tingkhatra requested the district authorities to expedite the investigation process.
Meanwhile, the apex students’ union, AAPSU has condemned the recent Seppa rape incident as barbaric and inhuman act. ‘There is no place for such people in the society,’ AAPSU said.
The union appealed to the general public to extend cooperation to administration for immediate arrest of the absconding accused.
The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has also vehemently condemned the reported abduction and rape of two minor girls.
Terming the incident as most inhuman and heinous crime, ANYA president said that such unprecedented crime has raised question over the district administration and government’s ability to handle law and order problem.
It might be mentioned here that two minor girls were forcefully abducted at gun point by two middle aged men when the girls were returning home after seeing off their elder sister at a Sumo Counter located in market area early morning at around 3:30 am on February 25.
Both the accused people were identified and the enraged people burnt down the vehicle which was used by the accused during forceful abduction.
One accused person was arrested by the police, while another is remained in dark. (UNI)
