Agartala: Ruling CPI(M) in Tripura will consolidate the organisation by reaching out to people in a more humble way, state party secretary Bijan Dhar said on Sunday.
“Our 21st state conference has ended last evening. We have adopted a three pronged approach – to reach out to people, paying heed to their views and exhibiting good and gentle behaviour,” he told reporters.
Party Secretary Prakash Karat and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, a Politburo member, both appealed to the 575 delegates of the conference to get closer to the common people. An 80-member state committee was formed in the conference and Dhar, also a Central Committee member, was re-elected as state party secretary for the consecutive third term.
Dhar said 37 delegates from Tripura would participate in the 21st Party Congress to be held at Visakhapatanam from April 14-19. (PTI)
