Females outnumber males in Board exams

34,923 and 46,723 candidates to  appear in this year’s HSSLC and SSLC examinations respectively

TURA: There is a rise in the number of candidates appearing for both SSLC and HSSLC examinations compared to previous years. The number of female students has outnumbered their male counterparts.
A total of 34923 candidates are appearing in this year’s Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination, 2015 out of which 22379 fall in the regular category,12536 non-regular while a mere 8 candidates come under the differently-abled category.
In the regular category there are 10293 male candidates and 12086 female candidates while in the non-regular category 6547 candidates are males and 5989 candidates are females. Out of the total of 8 candidates in the differently-abled category two are males while the remaining 6 are females.
In the same examination in 2014 there were a total of only 27279 candidates with 9522 regular, 3407 non regular and 3 differently-abled candidates who were males while 11,183 regular, 3,156 non regular and 8 differently-abled candidates were females.
In the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination scheduled to begin from the first week of March this year, out of the total of 21,314 regular, 25,393 private and 16 differently-abled candidates 9,884 regular, 11,955 non-regular and 6 differently-abled candidates are males while 11,430 regular, 13,438 non regular and 10 differently-abled candidates are females bringing the combined total to 46,723.
Last year in the same examination there were a total of 43,631candidates in all with 9,154, 11,035 and 12 male candidates in the regular, non regular and differently-abled categories respectively while the remaining 11,009 regular, 12,410 non regular and 11differently-abled candidates turned out to be females.
