Crude bomb lobbed at petrol pump, 2 hurt

NONGSTOIN: Unidentified miscreants, suspected to be GNLA militants, on Monday morning lobbed a crude bomb at a petrol pump in remote area of Meghalaya, injuring two employees of the petroleum station.
The incident took place at around 6.15 am at Shallang area in West Khasi Hills district when the workers of the Indian Oil petrol pump were to start the business of the day.
Two of its employees namely Amresh Kumar and Mejentis Sangma received minor injuries.
Reliable sources said that the GNLA had served a demand note to the petrol pump demanding Rs 1crore.
Superintendent of Police in-charge West Khasi Hills district, Sylvester Nongtnger said “We have started our investigation to ascertain the cause of the attack and the people behind the blast.
