16 graves desecrated in Ri-Bhoi dist

NONGPOH: Unknown miscreants have desecrated at least sixteen graves of Umtung Catholic Church graveyard under Mawbri Parish in Ri-Bhoi district.
The incident took place on February 21, sources said on Tuesday.
Talking to The Shillong Times, Umtung village headman Revistar Kharumnuid, who is also a member of Umting Catholic Church,  informed that the Catholic faithful and believers were in shock  following the incident.
AN FIR has been lodged in this connection at Khapmara police outpost under Umiam Police station. However, no arrest has been made so far.
