SHILLONG: Smuggling of Phensedyl syrup is quite common along the Indo-Bangla border as was revealed when BSF personnel of D-Coy, 108 Battalion, seized 475 bottles of the banned drug on March 1.
Again on March 3, BSF seized 100 bottles of Phensedyl abandoned by unknown miscreants at BP No. 1266 at Lyngkhat in East Khasi Hills.
The seized drugs were handed over to Pynursla PS for necessary action.
When contacted, BSF sources informed that smuggling of Phensedyl and liquor goes on through the unfenced portions of the porous international border.
