HDR inaugurates Weilyngkut bridge

SHILLONG: Minister for Transport HDR Lyngdoh on Friday inaugurated the Weilyngkut RCC Bridge at Sohiong-Weilyngkut-Nongbsap road under Mawphlang C&RD Block.
The 43.50 m double lane bridge over river Weilyngkut was sanctioned under the 13th Finance Commission at an estimated cost of Rs.2.25 crore.
The construction of the bridge began on November 28, 2013 and was completed by January, 2015, over a couple of months ahead of the scheduled time of April, 2015.
Speaking on the occasion, Lyngdoh, who is also the local MLA, said that the RCC bridge would greatly benefit the residents of the area.
Earlier, the Minister held a review meeting at Lum Pyllun village with the officers of various departments to study the progress of implementation of various developmental works for the ensuing Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi meeting to be held at Lumpyllun Presbyterian Church from March 12-15.
