Mukul briefs Rajnath Garo Hills situation

New Delhi:  Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Saturday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed issues concerning the state, especially the insurgency problem.
During their 15 minute meeting, Sangma briefed the Home Minister about the prevailing situation in the Northeastern state, where some militants are active in the Garo Hills region, bordering Bangladesh.
The Home Minister assured the Chief Minister all necessary Central assistance to tackle the problem, a Home Ministry spokesperson said.
Singh, who earlier in the day had undergone a health check up at a hospital in Gurgaon, met Sangma at his residence. (PTI)
