Guwahati:Assam MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed was suspended from the Assembly for the day on Monday by Speaker Pranab Kumar Borah for refusing to stop asking supplementary questions after Zero Hour was over.
When Ahmed continued to raise supplementary questions beyond the Zero Hour despite the Speaker’s repeated reminders, Bora warned him to stop else he would be suspended for the day. Ahmed insisted “I am not going.
The issue I have raised is on human rights vio-lence”. Upon the arrival of the Assembly Marshals on being summoned by the Speaker to physically remove him, Sherman left the House stating he was wal-king out in protest against his questions not being replied.
Asserting that two Indian nationals Ashan Molla and Monowara Begum, under two separate Illegal Migrants Determi-nation by Tribunals, Bar-peta, cases were decla-red foreigners by the Guwahati High Court, Ahmed deman-ded that the government take up their case with the Supreme Court to give them justice.(PTI)
