SHILLONG: Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday informed that the inquiry constituted by the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner has given a green signal to the Tura Municipal Board (TMB) to occupy the parking space on the second floor of Tura Marketing Hub which was recently operationalised.
According to Ampareen, some shop owners and others including South Tura legislator John Leslee K Sangma had opposed the TMB plan to occupy the parking space by raising safety concerns.
“Following the opposition, the DC had constituted an inquiry which has given a green signal to the TMB to occupy the parking space,” ahe said, adding that the parking space will help to reduce congestion.
