SHILLONG: The killing of four policemen by suspected GNLA militants on Tuesday has raised question whether the Home Minister Roshan Warjri will resign once again.
Expressing concern over the killing of police personnel and civilians by militants in Garo Hills, the Home Minister had tendered her resignation on November 20 last year.
However, two months later, Warjri rejoined as Home Minister after being perused by the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma.
Commenting on the matter, the NPP legislator James Sangma told reporters that it was taking moral responsibility that the Home Minister had once resigned.
“We respected her decision, but we do not know what changed her mind”, he said.
However, the Opposition member blamed the Government for being in a state of denial as far as the militancy scenario in Garo Hills is concerned.
“The State Government is in a state of denial. Unless you correct this perception, the situation would not improve though the Government thought that there will be peace in Garo Hills after signing the peace pact with ANVC-ANVC-B groups”, Sangma said.
