Vidhu Vinod Chopra aims to make film with Big B, Aamir

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra says it would be wonderful to manage a casting coup of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in one frame, especially in an English film for the global audience.
The filmmaker, along with the two actors, was present at the trailer launch of his debut Hollywood project “Broken Horses” here on Tuesday.
“It will be wonderful to work with Mr. Bachchan and Aamir Khan in an English language film for the world audience. Let’s aim for that,” Chopra said.
So far, Big B and Aamir have not worked together on screen. However, for Aamir’s film “Lagaan”, Big B played a narrator. (IANS)

‘Fitoor’ to release during next Valentine’s week

Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer ‘Fitoor’ will release on February 12 next year. Directed by ‘Kai Po Che’ helmer Abhishek Kapoor, the UTV Motion Pictures’ next is a modern retelling of Charles Dickens’ novel ‘Great Expectations’. The movie stars veteran Bollywood diva Rekha in a crucial role that is said to be inspired by Miss Havisham. (PTI)

George Clooney to visit Sandwich chain for charity

An Edinburgh sandwich shop owner is all set to welcome George Clooney later this year after the Hollywood star accepted an invite to support the business. Social Bite co-founder Josh Littlejohn said he approached A-list actor Clooney about visiting the chain and he agreed, reported BBC online.
Social Bite is a social venture which helps the homeless community by allowing customers to pay for food and drink for the vulnerable. Clooney, 53, will meet employees at the Edinburgh shop on November 12. He will deliver the keynote address at the Scottish Business Awards, also founded by Mr Littlejohn.
The 28-year-old entrepreneur said, “It’s a fantastic honour to be bringing one of the world’s most famous men to Scotland and it is amazing that he is supporting Social Bite. “He’ll be visiting a Social Bite cafe to meet our staff and customers as well as sample the food while here, and who knows, he may even join the team and lend a helping hand behind the counter. “For many of our team who until recently lived on the streets, this is a really amazing thing to look forward to.” (PTI)

Johnny Depp injured on set

Actor Johnny Depp has injured his hand while shooting for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” in Australia and will be flying to the US for surgery.
According to sources, production on the fifth installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, which began last month on Australia’s Gold Coast, is not expected to be overly impacted by Depp’s injury and the release date is still set for July 7, 2017, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The 51-year-old will reprise his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming film, which will also star Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, and Javier Bardem in pivotal roles. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is co-directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning. (IANS)
