NONGSTOIN: Six West Khasi Hills-based pressure groups under the banner of Synjuk Sengbhalang conducted a spot inspection of the construction of Nongstoin District jail at Photkynthei near here on Thursday.
The NGOs – Western Youth Federation (WYF), Western Youth Welfare Council (WYWC), Western People Movement (WPM), West Khasi Student Union (WKSU), West Khasi National Youth Front (WKNYF) and Western Youth people Development Organization (WYPDO) – were led by chairman of the Synjuk, T.S. Shangrit.
Speaking to pressmen post the inspection, Shangrit lamented that the delay on the part of the state government to complete the proposed construction work has led to wastage of public money.
