Shillong: A one-day motivational programme was conducted by the office of the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies, East Khasi Hills, on the theme Sustainable Livelihood through Allied Agricultural Activities at Sohiong Multi Utility Centre, Sohiong, under Mawphlang C&RD Block on Saturday.
Minister for Co-operation H.D.R. Lyngdoh graced the occasion as the chief guest in the presence of B.D.R. Tiwari, Registrar of Co-operative Societies, H. Lyngkhoi, Jt. Registrar of Co-operative Societies, members of cooperative societies and Self Help Groups from Sohiong, Weilyngkut, Mawkneng, Kyndong Wahlang, Mawthwan, Rangshken and Mawmaram villages.
Later in the day, resource persons V.M. Kahit, E.R. Marbaniang and B. Nongtraw, senior co-operative officers, gave talks on ‘Co-operative Ideologies Principles and Management’ and ‘Allied Agricultural Activities’.
The programme ended with an interactive session between the resource persons and farmers.
