SHILLONG: Ri-Bhoi police have arrested the principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) 0f Niangbari — Dhiren Kumar Mehta — for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old student.
A case has been register against Mehta under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Mehta was arrested on Wednesday night following a complaint by the parents of the minor girl.
Police said that the principal allegedly molested the girl after summoning her to his office on the pretext that he required her help for some works.
