Exemption on petrol, diesel withdrawn

SHILLONG: In line with the Budget presented by Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, the Commissioner and Secretary Excise, Registration, Taxation and Stamps Department has informed that 50 per cent of the exemption granted by the department for oil companies and retail outlets on sales of motor spirit within the state of Meghalaya has been withdrawn and stands reduced to Rs. 0.56 paise per litre from the amount Rs. 1.13 paise notified on 14.6.2012.
In a similar order,  the  Commissioner and Secretary has withdrawn the exemption granted to oil companies and retail outlets on sale of diesel within the state of Meghalaya at the rate of Rs. 0.50 paise per litre with immediate effect.
