Gogoi flags off last leg of cycle rally across NE

Guwahati: Flagging off the last leg of a cycle rally ‘Call of the Brahmaputra’ at Guwahati today, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi hoped that the message of love and goodwill carried by the participants would help further strengthen the bond of unity and amity among the people of the Northeast states and that of the rest of the country.
Mr Shah, leader of the 20 member cycling expedition said he was overwhelmed by the warmth of the hearts of hundreds of people who greeted them and interacted with them on the way.
This will help remove lot of misconceptions about the Northeast that exist across the country.’
Organised by Sarhad and Swanand Adventures, Pune, the 10-day cycling expedition was flagged off by Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh at Imphal on March 13 last.
Traversing a distance of 750 km across four States viz., Manipur, Nagaland, Assam and Meghalaya, the expedition will conclude at Shillong on March 22. (UNI)
