Shillong: On Sunday morning reporting from the Umaid Bhavan Palace, currently the residence of Maharaja  Gaj Singh of Jodhpur, the  members of the Shillong Chamber Choir accompanied by their Director, Neil Nongkynrih  said they were privileged to be invited to breakfast by the Maharaja.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan who performed with the Shillong Chamber Choir and the Vienna Choir on Saturday (March 22) for the song Vande Mataram composed and put to tune by Neil Nongkynrih has been tweeting furiously about how touched he was to be performing with a group of young people who have made it big but are rooted to their values.
For the Shillong Chamber Choir this is yet another opportunity to perform before an august audience comprising royalty not just from India but from abroad as well. The Duchess of York was present and she was floored by the Choir’s versatile performance ranging from Western Classical, Folk to Bollywood.
Other dignitaries include the head of Fortis Hospitals, the Jindals, Fashion Designer, JJ Valaya, Paresh Maity (Painter), Suheil Seth (TV Personality) et al.
The occasion was a fund raising event for the Head Injury Foundation.
