SHILLONG: ARPA chairman Metbah Lyngdoh on Sunday expressed confidence that Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi would take a decision in their favour.
“It is a fact that we are in the majority with the support of 16 MDCs,” Lyngdoh said on Sunday.Asked if ARPA would approach the Court if the Governor decided to approve the Meghalaya cabinet decision to impose Administrator’s Rule in the KHADC, Lyngdoh said they had not planned their next course of action.
“We are not seeking anything that is unconstitutional. We know that there is merit in our case and we are confident that the decision of the Governor will be in our favour,” the ARPA chairman said.
Meanwhile, a senior official of the district council affairs department on Sunday informed that they had not received any official communiqué from the Governor on the matter.
