Fake varsity website case: 2 more held

SHILLONG: In connection with the case of creation of fake website of Techno Global University, two more persons suspected to be involved in the case were arrested on Sunday from Guwahati.
Police on Monday said that the arrested persons have been identified as Santosh Kumar (22) and Arvind Kumar Sinha (46). They were produced in Court here on Monday and remanded to 4 days police custody.
Earlier, two accused, Sanjeev Kumar (36) of Shivpuri, Patna and his accomplice and wife Pooja Srivastava (32) were arrested at Patna by a police team from Shillong. The accused had created the fake
website www.technoglobaluniversity.org through which they offered admissions and also issued mark sheets. Two laptops, seals, hologram, a letter head of Techno Global University along with provisional certificates, blank mark sheets of CMJ and Rs. 17 lakh in cash were also seized from them. Earlier, the Chancellor of Techno Global University had lodged a complaint with the Mawlai Police Station, which
prompted the East Khasi Hills Police to pursue the matter in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar.
