Youth parliament organised
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Shillong organized a neighbourhood youth parliament programme in collaboration with Association for Community Development, Sohra region in Sohra recently. The programme aimed at motivating the youths to strive for excellence in their respective fields and to bring them to the forefront of the development process. Extra Assistant Commissioner, Sohra Civil  Sub-division, N. Hajong addressed the gathering.
District-level science exhibition
The District School Education Office, East Khasi Hills, will organize a three-day district- level science   exhibition from March 24-26 at Government Girl’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.
Unidentified body recovered
Police on Monday morning recovered an unknown male body from Syndicate Bus Stand, Mawlonghat.  Relatives of the deceased have to contact the police for identification.
Health awareness campaign
Change.NGO.Org on Saturday organized a health awareness campaign for inmates of Shillong District Jail. Dr. (Col.) M.S. Sandhu, Medical Director and Director- Cardiology Artemis Hospital, spoke about cardiac ailments and how a good and healthy lifestyle can protect the heart. A unique interactive session was also held wherein the inmates were encouraged to speak their minds about their individual concerns and ailments.
Automation of fuel stations
Indian Oil on Monday inaugurated the first city automation of retail outlets in the North East. All the 12 retail outlets in Shillong have been brought under the automation system. With this, Shillong has become the 30th city in the country to have complete automation.
