NONGPOH: It was a happy occasion for residents of Laiphewdiengngan village under Umsning C&RD Block in Ri Bhoi District on Monday when Mawhati legislator Julius Dorphang inaugurated the new community hall of the village constructed at an estimated amount Rs.5 lakh sanctioned from the BRGF scheme.
The function was witnessed by Owen Sohlang, Rangbah Shnong of Laiphewdiengngan, teachers and students of Laiphewdiengngan UP School and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Dorphang applauded the representative of Laiphewdiengngan village led by the Rangbah Shnong for their leadership and proper utilization of the governmental schemes in constructing the community hall which, he expected, would benefit the local resident of the village.
“The leadership shown by the representative of the locality can bring a lot more development in the village, therefore it is the prime duty of the local residents to render their support and cooperation to the leaders of the village for all round development and for the betterment of the people of the village,” Dorphang said.
