‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign launched in Nagaland

Kohima: Nagaland Governor P.B Acharya, a brand ambassador of the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission, on Monday launched the campaign. The Governor along with his wife Kavita Acharya, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and other senior bureaucrats symbolically cleaned the Old Nagaland State Transport area at Kohima.The Governor called upon various organisations and universities in the state to come forward in constructing public toilets and discourage use of plastics and thermocol. It was organised by Kohima Municipal Council in collaboration with State Urban Development Department. Swachh Bharat campaign, a cleanliness drive across India, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti last year. (PTI)
